Love My Country from Couric Designs on sale plus freebie!

I recently was given the opportunity to create both layouts and a freebie for the kit Love My Country from Couric Designs.   Although this is not a new release, it has been placed on sale for a 35% savings through the end of July!

Love My Country is a great way to scrap your Fourth of July picnics, parties, and fireworks!  Let's take a look at the kit:

Full Kit currently $3.89
Papers Only - currently $2.27

It is important to note that the Papers Only Kit are the SAME 21 papers in the Full Kit.  These are offered separately for those who have no need of the elements.  The elements are super-cute!  And for the 35% savings, I would definitely go for the full kit!!  But wait!  There's more!    A word art kit!

Word Art Add On - currently $1.62

These items are available at Simply Love Scrapbooking. If you click on the images above, a new window will pop up with the exact location of that specific kit.

I created several different layout to get a feel for the kit before creating a freebie for fans.  I would love to share one of those with you:

And lastly, a freebie for you!  Click on one the links below the image:

New Release from Karen Diamond Designs: A Love Long Ago

A lovely kit with a vintage feel that you can use for those family heritage layouts but still versatile enough for everyday use.  The color palette is simply beautiful:

That's just teasing, isn't it?  Oh, all right. Here is a full preview!

Now that you have seen the preview and you want the preview, let me draw your attention to that SALE notice!!  It's true!  Just released, and on sale until July 3rd!   In my opinion, go for the bundle! Buy the bundle (only $3.59 right now)  and that darling alpha is included.  I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of using alphas, but this one - actually works!  I have been trying to experiment more using alphas on my layouts and I have been pleasantly surprised!

Oops!  I forgot to add that this lovely creation is available at Scraps N Pieces.  Now, I would love to share with you a couple layouts I created using A Love Long Ago:

Give Me Sunshine!

The GottaGrabIt kit from Connie Prince this month is Give Me Sunshine.  So many possibilities for layouts!   I would love to share with your two layouts I created using this kit:

Give Me Sunshine layout actually started out with one of the 4-3-2-1 June Templatetopias from Connie Prince.  As things progressed... I ended up with this!  It is actually a technique I wanted to learn using PSE for some time.  Now I know!  Same kit... two entirely different layouts.  I am always amazed at the diversity in layouts. And some kits just lend themselves to versatility more than others.  Give Me Sunshine is one of those kits!

On our 20th Wedding Anniversary... to my beloved husband, Joseph

On this, our 20th wedding anniversary, I am reminded of our wedding vows. We were married, in chambers, by Judge Charles "Chip" Henry on June 02, 1993.  This "Creed For Marriage" was part of our vows.  The words were so lovely.. so meaningful.. I asked for a written copy.

This was Judge Henry's first year on the bench. He was appointed in 1993, and won every election since until his tragic death in 2011.  Judge Henry was killed by a car while riding his bicycle.

The last 20 years have been the best of my life.

It's difficult to read the creed on a scrap layout... so I will share them here as well...

Comfort Each Other
Provide a refuge and sanctuary for each other from the chill winds of the world. Your marriage is a hearth, from whence comes peace, harmony and warmth of soul and spirit.

Caress As You Would Be Caressed
Warm your loved one’s body with your healing touch. Remember that as babies die at lack of touching, so can marriages wither from lack of closeness.

Be A Friend And Partner
Friendship can be a peaceful island, separate and apart, in a world of turmoil and strife. Reflect upon the tranquility of the many future years you can share with a true friend, and beware of becoming battling enemies under the same roof.

Be Open With Each Other
Bind not yourselves in the secretness that causes suspicion and doubt. Trust and reveal yourselves to each other, even as the budding rose opens to reveal its fragrance and beauty.

Listen To Each Other
And hear not only the words, but also the non-language of tone, mood and expression. Learn to listen to understand, rather than listening to argue.

Respect Each Other’s Rights
Remember that each of you is entitled to his or her own choices and mistakes. Each owns himself and herself and has the right to equality.

Allow The Other Individual To Be An Individual
Seek not to create for each other a new mold that can only fit with much discomfort and pain. Accept the other as he or she is, as you would have yourself accepted.

Give Each Other Approval
Remember criticism divides, while compliments encourage confidence in the other. Hasten not to point out the other’s mistakes, for each will soon discover his or her own. Remember, perfection in this life is an unattainable goal. Don’t expect or insist upon it in your spouse.

Cherish Your Union
Let no one come between your togetherness, not child, not friend, nor worldly goods. Yet maintain enough separateness to allow each other his or her own unique oneness.

Love One Another
Love is your river of life - your eternal source of re-creating yourselves. Let that love be your greatest aim. Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud. If you love someone, you will be loyal to him or her no matter what the cost.  You will always believe in each other, always expect the best of each other, and always stand your ground in defending each other. All your worldly successes and pleasures will someday come to and end, but LOVE - in a true marriage - conquers all and goes on forever.

It's not often I forget to add this, but the kit used to create the layout is the Project 2013: June Collection from Connie Prince.  The font is Snell Roundhand.
